I can remember visiting Wisconsin ever since we were kids. The what seemed endless drive over the IL/WI border in the back of my uncle+aunt's maroon Dodge Caravan. That's the oldest most vivid memory I have. Then there were going out to trails to watch the geese head south, very uniform in V shape. The farm, fresh apples, pie and muffins. It's 2010 and I'm glad to say that I continue to visit the Fon Du Lac, WI area annually in the early fall. No longer with my uncle or aunt regretfully but with my own kids and family. We're adults now so we've transitioned to other forms of entertainment and amusement. For The Boy and I one of those things would be BEER. The Boy found a brewery while we visited Oshkosh, WI this year. We went so I'd like to share with you a bit about our visit to...
FOX RIVER BREWING CO.
The brewery had already made last call when we arrived, but fortunately for us the bar+grill attached to the brewery had a late night planned(score!). The taste test begins...
I Started off with their Seasonal Schwarzbier, very nutty, dark and headless not bad, NEXT!
Next was Something they call Blu, which is a blueberry flavored beer, not for me but my brother-in-law liked it. NEXT!
This is where I lost track of the drinks, I think this is....shit I don't know. NEXT!
The Boy tried this that I wasn't to pleased with it either, something cheesy from WI. isn't to surprising. N-Next!
And yes my favorite of the night (not just because it was the highest alcohol level @ .8%), their Scottish Ale.
It was a good night had some good beer, some good conversation, and some decent music. The Cover Band playing was The Presidents everything from classic to modern rock, YEAH! Another round please.
The Boy HAPPY with the Fox River Brewery Co. tee he scored.
If your ever in the Oshkosh area be sure to look them up, great beer, good fun.
